An American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, Guns N Roses was formed in 1985. The band comprised of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler when they signed Geffen Records in 1986. However, the current line up consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. The earned the nickname of “The most dangerous band in the world” due to their hedonic and rebellious comparison to the Rolling Stones band in the early years. The band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, 45 million alone in USA making them the 41st bestselling artist in history.

Guns N Roses’ Appetite for Destruction in 1987 was a debut that reached number one on the Billboard 200, a year after it released. "Welcome to the Jungle", "Paradise City", and "Sweet Child o' Mine" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 as singles. The album, G N’ R Lies reached number two on the Billboard 200 and 10 million copies of the same were sold across the globe. The album Chinese Democracy album was released in 2008 being the most expensive rock album in history of about $ 14 million production costs. G N’ R has won 4 MTV Video Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and 2 World Music Awards for their expectational rock music compositions.

The band however is accused of various drug, sex and alcohol abuses to let their imagination run free and continue their creative processes. Their lyrics consisted several comments on homophobia and racism which was later removed.
