Directed by Zoya Akhtar starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Kalki Koechlin, the story revolves around two underground rappers of Mumbai - Divine and Naezy and how they rose to fame. Gully Boy is named after their breakout song Gully Gang and is going to hit the box office on 14th February 2019.

Actor Ranveer Singh was previously seen on screen in 2018 in Simmba, while Alia Bhatt gave Raazi, a critically as well as commercially hit movie. Zoya Akhtar had her Netflix’s much-talked movie Lust Stories where she shared the director’s chair with other three renowned directors.
Gully boy’s trailer announcement was launched on 4th January where Ranveer Singh rapped his heart out to 'Asli Hip Hop'.

Twitter is on a roll, let's check out what they have to say
#GullyBoyTrailer - BOLO AZAADI!!! Insanely good trailer. Ranveer is outstanding and so is Alia. It’s going to be an interesting coming of age movie. They’ve wonderfully captured the gully vibes & the tag line “apna time aayega” is apt. This is Zoya’s, Alia’s and Ranveer’s time. pic.twitter.com/UyMbznjzdK

Ranveer and Zoya especially have perhaps their career best with Gully Boy. Ranveer’s transformation is unbelievable - and I’m not about the physical aspect. His demeanour, sullen look and raging nerves are spectacularly portrayed in the #GullyBoyTrailer.

If this doesn't explain it don't know what does. Just two stills, without even watching the trailer, and you know she has already slayed it in the trailer❤️ #GullyBoyTrailer pic.twitter.com/MMdPMjlkRl

Slightly disappointed that the #GullyBoyTrailer didn't mention Kalki. But her really brief appearance really got me all charged up! Hope Bollywood learns how to treat its talent right, and just, you know, the celeb kids! Looking forward to this one tho!

The trailer captures the city of Mumbai beautifully and is filled with some brilliant dialogues. It has left the audience wanting more, but has also received flak for resembling '8 Mile', a movie starring Eminem and loosely based on his life. Some of the shots are said to have the same setting as well as a similar course of direction like 8 Mile.
All said and done 2019 seems all set to be a promising year for Bollywood with coming off age movies, compelling stories and interesting plots where ‘Content will be the King’. Tell us below if the Gully Boy’s trailer was a hit or miss for you.
