The Govinda Naam Mera trailer goes in for a murder investigation with a twist of comedy

Shashank Khaitan's Govinda Naam Mera starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles released its trailer and it seems like an intriguing take on a murder mystery!

Experimental filmmaking is the trending deal for Bollywood right now. Whether it's young actors like Ayushamann Khurrana or Kartik Aaryan taking a different course and breaking their patterns or veteran actors like Aamir Khan or Akshay Kumar looking to take a break once in a while. In a similar way, Vicky Kaushal in a new look in Govinda Naam Mera jumps into a new genre of filmmaking mystery cum comedy. The film's trailer is filled with a unique sense of style, color, and tonality, and Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar!

Vicky Kaushal aka Govinda Waghmare is married to a super hot woman Bhumi Pednerkar but he is in love with his equally sexy dancer girlfriend Kiara Advani. And even though he wants to leave Bhumi and stay with Kiara, Bhumi asks for 2 crores to leave him. Stuck in his situation, one day he points a gun at Bhumi in frustration and there is a murder that takes place later. Daya from CID is the head of this murder investigation while Vicky and Kiara become the prime suspects. There's chaos all around right from who is murdered to what is happening but it's too much as well since comedy ensues with the situation they get stuck in.

The film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan has a unique tonality and sense of humor which seems like an exciting spin on a murder mystery. The chemistry between all the three, Bhumi, Vicky, and Kiara is on point and experimenting with comedy doesn't seem too far-fetched, rather it's interestingly inviting. This makes you wonder why filmmakers are choosing to release it on an OTT platform instead of in theatres. But looking at the success of films like Darlings, and Monica O My Darling, it seems like this gamble might just pay off!
