The pride march this year was a special one for it was Mumbai's first after the Supreme Court scrapped the archaic Section 377 last year. Here's how the city celebrated love, rainbows and #MumbaiPride2019
Not so long ago, Twitterverse had showered their love and affection for and in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community last year in September after the historical Supreme Court Order. May it be the lighting up of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in colourful shades or the coming together of parents of people who identify as queer, there is a lot that happened in the past two days. Let's go through the highlights of #MumbaiPride2019 and document these in our memories, shall we?
First off, here's the tweet announcement about the lighting up of the UNESCO World Heritage Building:
"It's not just the lighting of a historic building but the lifting up of the darkness that has been shrouding the LGBTQ community for decades." Chairperson Ashok Row Kavi @Amma29 pic.twitter.com/OYKHTnsIHJ
