FRIENDS Reunion is the one that we have waited on for more than a decade and its release made us realize how they will always there for us.
Spoilers ahead, read at your own risk. We heard Jennifer Anniston AKA our Rachel Green in the trailer asking for a tissue box, and now we know that she was damn right. Keep on those tissues in handy you are going to need it, especially in the start when that purple door with the yellow frame opens up once again. After seventeen bloody years, these six friends combined together again at the same places and watching them relive each moment leaves you with exactly the same feeling you got when you watched FRIENDS. To describe their experience of coming back to the same set and meeting everybody, they say "we just fell right back into it" and honestly we did too.
They all came into our lives with their quirky, witty, weird, over pronouncing, loud, crazily competitive, bratty unapologetic selves and engulfed every sorrow and left us with this warm fuzzy feeling. They took the place of those friends that we not just wanted the most but needed the most in our lives. Their fictional world felt more real as they once packed it with pure, unadulterated love, acceptance, and comfort. What we felt in 10 seasons, 236 episodes, 121 hours and 7260 minutes is what this 1 hour 40 minutes tries to unpack, relive and pack up back again.
From the emotional stories to behind-the-scenes drama to reading some of the scenes again to some crazy revelations, it's all about F.R.I.E.N.D.S. by friends for all the friends around the world. It's a documentary with a twist of FRIENDS style with it. It will make you laugh, cry, jump with joy, emotional, elevated, all in all, what friends is supposed to make you feel.
Here are some things that make this reunion of FRIENDS a definite watch!!
You get to see the original sets and how they used to shoot
Ross and Rachel could have been a reality in life as David Schwimmer and Jennifer Anniston had a huge crush on each other (channeling my inner Janice here OH! MY! GOD!)
They all go down the memory lane of they used to get dressed, eat, where they group hugged before every shoot and what all they wrote on the last day (Chandler AKA Mathew Perry and Joey AKA Matt Le Blanc recreate sitting on their Barcalaoungers)
You'll know the true story behind the casting of each one of them (“Everyone was so perfectly cast in the show,” says David Schwimmer) and also how the story actually came into being.
You'll see them doing some scenes again, talking about some of their favorite scenes and behind the scenes of it, the process behind their acting and definitely the quiz is being played AGAIN.
From celebs to people talking about their favorite moments and what the show meant to them
You'll get to see Janice, Richard, Gunther, and many more people from the show
A fashion show of the popular dresses from friends by popular celebs like Justin Bieber
How getting to shoot with the Monkey was a complete menace and Lisa Kudrow singing with Lady Gaga
Finally the reason why F.R.I.E.N.D.S does not come back with an actual episode continuing the storyline
But what will come as a blow would be the end just like how they all left an empty purple apartment with their keys on the table at the end of the show, this episode's end will also bring tears to your eyes. The fact that they might never come back again together ever after this like this is the last we see them all like this leaves a tiny ache. But As James Corden rightly said earlier, “What you have given is an experience of huge comfort. We felt like we had these friends”. This episode brought all that emotions and feelings back. When the instrumental version of the title of the song is being played with all those black and white moments, your mind is singing, "If it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, I'll be there for you." Which is in complete sync with the fact that how this hasn't been our year and yet again F.R.I.E.N.D.S is here for us.
