First look of The CW's live-action series, Powerpuff Girls revealed

Check out the first look of CW's live-action series based on Cartoon Network's popular animated series, Powerpuff Girls.

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are all set to take you back to your childhood as a live-action version of the popular animated series is in production. The CW Network has started the production of Powerpuff Girls and will feature Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. The network and the Director of the series, Maggie Kiley, revealed the first looks of the iconic characters.

Cartoon Networks' original series aired between 1998 and 2005 and ran for six seasons and 78 episodes. The reboot movie was made in 2002 and aired on the Cartoon Network in 2016. It was last summer that the series began production while the pilot was ordered by The CW earlier this year.

Donald Faison will play the Professor, Nicholas Podany will portray Jojo Mondel, and Robyn Lively will play Sara Bellum. The official original costumes of the characters were iconic. However, according to The CW, fans can only see the costumes in flashbacks to the characters' teenage years. According to a report by IGN India, the show will primarily focus on the characters as, "disillusioned twenty-somethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting."
