A solid skincare routine ensures your makeup stays intact through the dance and helps your skin recover post-celebration. Here are some Navratri skincare tips she recommends!
Pre-garba skincare routine:
Cleanse: Start by washing your face with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt and excess oils. If you’ve been out in the sun, opt for a detan face wash with ingredients like Niacinamide or Vitamin C to brighten your skin. For acne prone skin, pick something that has Salicylic Acid.
Hydrate: Follow up with a hydrating toner or mist. You need a burst of moisture before layering products to keep your skin feeling fresh all night.
Moisturize: Choose a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer that locks in hydration but won’t make your skin oily under makeup. A gel-based one works great for this.
Prime: Never skip a good primer! It ensures your makeup stays intact through all the garba moves and sweat.
Post-garba skincare routine:
Double cleanse: After dancing the night away, use micellar water or an oil-based cleanser to break down makeup, followed by a water-based cleanser to thoroughly clean your skin.
Exfoliate: Slough off the dead skin cells and sweat with a gentle exfoliant, helping your skin breathe and reset.
Repair and hydrate: Apply a serum with Hyaluronic Acid or soothing ingredients like aloe vera to replenish the lost hydration. Finish off with a night cream that targets skin repair.
