A romance of elegance, mastery, and exuberant style, India’s infamous fashion event Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI is back and the fashion world has its eyes on Delhi.
A platform for designers to showcase their creative collections while talking about being better as an industry, Lakme Fashion Week 2023 in partnership with FDCI began on October 11. The five-day couture fiesta is happening at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. People who love fashion are always looking forward to the event, wanting a glimpse at Indian designers’ style that would become the à la mode of the season. Days 1 and 2 of LFW were no different with collections that many can’t stop discussing.
With their magnificent collections for the season and a taste of what can be, the first 2 days of the event were all about sustainability, celebrating the rich craftsmanship from across the world, and more. Abraham & Thakore’s collection 'Body Language' blurred the lines between casual and formal. Amita Gupta Gupta's collection highlighted sustainable fashion 'The Age of Urban Reforestation' taking inspiration from the bond shared between nature and humans.
Sakshi Sindwani was seen on the ramp walking for Kaveri's collection titled "The Romance of the Rose: An Affair to Remember." Creators Sukhmani Gambhir, Niki Mehra walked for Shalini Jaikaria and Paras Bairoliya of Geisha Designs. Parul Gulati was there for Swati Vijaivargie's collection 'Gulaal'. Tejeshwar Sandhoo showcased Abhishek Paatni's brand Nought One and its latest collection.
We also spotted some of our favorite creators walking the ramp as well as representing the digital fashion space throughout the event. Sejal Kumar, Deeksha Mishra, Anisha Sethi, Aakriti Rana, Nagma Miragkar, Nitibha, Chirag Khanna, Ankush Bahuguna, and many more have been at LFW to celebrate designers for everything new that they had to share.
