While little was happening this week, the global entertainment industry was abuzz with new announcements and trailers. Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi announced that Jolly LLB 3 would be back again starring both of them as Jolly. Interestingly, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) from the Harry Potter series will be seen alongside Pratik Gandhi in a Hansal Mehta series on GandhiDisney unveils the Mufasa: The Lion King trailer and Kristen Stewart and Oscar Issac star together in a vampire film. That's not all, Pakistan's coming out with its first anime film and Baahubali's prequel is being released in an animated format.

Jolly LLB returns with third installment starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi 

Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film franchise with two underdog lawyers satirizes the Indian judicial system with humor and social commentary. This time, both actors Arshad Warsi, who played Jolly in the first film in 2013, and Akshay Kumar, who played Jolly in the second in 2017, are coming together. The actors announced the beginning of the shoot in a quirky behind-the-scenes video! 

Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy to star in Hansal Mehta's Gandhi 

The untold story of Gandhi's formative years in London is being told through the eyes of Josiah Oldfield, essayed by Tom Felton who is popularly known as Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. Helmed by Hansal Mehta and backed by Applause Entertainment, the series stars Pratik Gandhi as Mahatma Gandhi and also includes a star-studded cast of Libby Mai, Molly Wright, Ralph Adeniyi, James Murray, Lindon Alexander, Jonno Davies, and Simon Lennon.

Pakistan's First Anime Film 

Pakistan is going to produce its first hand-drawn animated feature film titled "The Glassworker". Directed by filmmaker Usman Riaz, it is set to release in cinemas in Pakistan on July 26, 2024, and it's been in the works for the last 10 years, with full-scale production starting in 2019.

S.S. Rajamouli brings the untold story of Baahubali in a new chapter

Baahubali, a beloved fantasy franchise in India, has many unheard, unseen, and unwitnessed events. Disney+ Hotstar along with S.S. Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan, A Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks production announces the prequel to ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’. It is a story where Baahubali and Bhallaladeva join hands to protect the great kingdom of Mahishmati and the throne against its greatest threat, the mysterious warlord known only as Raktadeva. It releases on May 17. 

Kristen Stewart and Oscar Issac to star in 80s Vampire film 

Kristen Stewart is returning to the world of vampires with none other than Oscar Issac. Flesh Of The Gods, a 1980s LA-set vampire thriller, will be directed by Panos Cosmatos, 'Mandy's' director, and will feature both actors together.

Rupali Ganguly joins BJP 

Popularly known in many households as Anupamaa, television actor Rupali Ganguly joined the Bhartiya Janta Party on Wednesday in the presence of party general secretary Vinod Tawde

Mufasa: The Lion King trailer unveiled 

Disney's latest trailer for "Mufasa: The Lion King" has been unveiled. This live-action prequel directed by Barry Jenkins of "Moonlight" fame, promises to take us back to where it all began as we witness the rise of a young and rugged Mufasa to claim his throne in the majestic Pride Lands. It is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. 

Netflix asked to take down documentary 'Hack Your Health'

The National Autistic Society has asked Netflix to take down the documentary Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut. The organization has called the Netflix documentary offensive and irresponsible and, in addition, has urged the OTT company to take it down. 

Dharmendra and Hema Malini celebrated their 44th wedding ceremony

Bollywood veterans Hema Malini and Dharmendra marked their 44th wedding anniversary with an intimate celebration at home with Esha Deol. Hema took to social media to share a bunch of pictures from the celebration and penned a heartfelt note along with it. 

LOVE+ gets nominated for the Kashish Film Festival 2024 

Shrayrai Tiwari, Paras Tomar, and Ankur Thakur’s new film ‘LOVE+ (love positive)’ was nominated as the official selection under the Indian competition section at Asia’s biggest queer film festival - Kashish 2024. Along with the selection, they are also nominated for Best Indian Narrative Shorts Competition Section, Best Performance in a Lead Role for Ankur Thakur and Shrayari Tiwari, and Best Screenplay.
