ICC World Cup Championship had quite a nail-biting ending. New Zealand and England battled it out in the final match of the tournament that would decide the fate of the trophy and who it goes to. The match was rather entertaining interesting and left fans in the stadium as well as those streaming it live with an adrenaline rush. Both the teams gave it their best with little help from luck (or missed-calculation) and the outcome was a Super Over!
Fans binged on the day-long match, supporting their favourite teams and stress-eating junk food. After going neck to neck, Team England was deemed as the winner but it wasn't due to higher runs as freakishly, both the teams scored the same runs in the Super Over as well. England received an edge over New Zealand because of an ancient ICC rule. Yes The Rule! Team England has scored a total of 26 boundaries as opposed to New Zealand's 17. Netizens couldn't digest the fact that neither the scoreboard nor the Super Over and not even their performances throughout that became a deciding factor but a mere technicality. Upset with ICC and its problematic rules, cricket enthusiasts took to Twitter to express their dismay and condemn ICC's rules.
Take a look:
Some rules in cricket definitely needs a serious look in.

Difficult to digest this more boundary rule. Something like sudden death- continuous super overs till a result is a better solution. Understand, wanting a definite winner but sharing a trophy is better than deciding on more boundaries. Very tough on New Zealand. #EngVsNZ

Don't understand how the game of such proportions, the #CWC19Final, is finally decided on who scored the most boundaries. A ridiculous rule @ICC. Should have been a tie. I want to congratulate both @BLACKCAPS & @englandcricket on playing out a nail biting Final. Both winners imo.

Commiserations New Zealand.
I’ve got to say that it’s a horrible way to decide the winner. This rule has to change.
Cruel!

Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.

What a game of cricket yesterday. Congrats to both teams for putting on a terrific show - full of skill, drama and courage. Feel for NZ as they were outstanding. Well done England. I just wish there was another super over or as many super overs as required to have a clear winner

Fully convinced that Thala Dhoni shouldn't retire for now, who knows ICC may start deciding match results by adding up the age of playing eleven. #ICCWorldCup2019

Why don't wickets could decide the winner? New Zealand took 10 wickets, England took just 8 wickets only. Taking wickets are difficult than hitting boundaries. #ICCRules are also batsmen dominating.

In DLS, they consider no of wickets fallen then why not when match gets tied..NZ should have won..#ICCRules I am like ??? pic.twitter.com/LtwNGPFJ9T

Strange that a game that has 5 days matches did not have time to do another super over and decided the World Cup winner by counting boundaries. #ICCRules
