Emmy Awards

The award season is approaching us soon and here is the list of Emmy nominations 2023 who will be honored and will compete against each other this year!

If movies have Oscars, then the television world looks forward to the Emmy Awards every year and the highly anticipated nominations are finally out. This year has also been great in terms of global representation for India. Movies premiering at Cannes to even winning an Oscar. So of course we weren't going to leave behind the Emmy nominations 2023 either. Netflix's Indian Matchmaking has been nominated this year in the Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program category and it definitely is another moment of pride for us.

Coming to the to awards of the ceremony, just like last year, the family drama, Succession holds the record for the most number of nominations with 27 Emmy nominations this year. Followed by Last of Us which is nominated in 24 categories. Other contenders in the Best Drama category include some of our favourites from last year like Game of Thrones' prequel House of the Dragon, The Crown, Better Call Saul and The White Lotus. In the Comedy Series category, Ted Lasso and The Bear are the ones with the top nominations and some of the series nominated in this category are Marvelous Mrs Maisel which will be nominated one last time. Selena Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building and Netflix's favourite, Wednesday.

Jenna Ortega earned her first Emmy for Wednesday and fans are excited to see her walk the carpet. Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin, the men from the Roy family will be competing against each other in the Lead Actor category. Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay are also nominated in the leading role categories and so are Ali Wong and Steven Yeun for their limited series Beef. The still ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood can lead to postponing the Emmy’s from September 18 to possibly another date but for now this is what we look forward to!
