Emmy Awards Nominations

From Succession bagging the most number of nominations to Squid Game and Zendaya creating history, here are all the Emmy Awards nominations!

Emmy Awards, one of the most prestigious awards for TV and OTT, recently announced their nominations for 2022 and the world can't keep calm about it. From various snubs to creating history this year's, Emmy Awards nominations were just as exciting as it was shocking for many. HBO's highly popular and critically acclaimed show, Succession, which won last year also, bagged the maximum number of nominations this year with 25 nods while South Korean record-breaking show Squid Game on Netflix created history for being the first ever non- English foreign show to bag the highest number of nominations with 14 nods. But it was not just these two shows, HBO’s The White Lotus, and Apple TV+ Ted Lasso also went on ahead to bag 20 nods each while Hulu's Only Murders in the Building bagged 17 nods, highest for any new entry.

HBO with HBO Max and Netflix became the platforms that bagged the most number of nominations for any network or TV studio with 140 nods and 105 nods, respectively. Zendaya, the most popular Gen-Z icon created history after winning last year by being the youngest producer at 25 for Euphoria. Though the biggest snubs of this year are, Yellowstone for not getting a drama-series nomination in spite of being the TV’s highest-rated entertainment show as well as the highly critically acclaimed Maid for limited series. Selena Gomez also did not get nominated for Best Actress in Comedy for Only Murders in the Building even though both Martin Short and Steve Martin did. And the biggest surprises are considered to be Julia Garner’s nomination for Netflix's Inventing Anna and Reese Witherspoon for Apple TV+ The Morning Show instead of the highly expected and incredible performance by Jennifer Aniston. Both Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh got nominated in the same category for BBC America’s Killing Eve.
