People woke up saddened as they received the last edition of the DNA newspaper as the publication shut shop.
Newspapers are considered to be the pioneer of distributing news from around the world to the people. It is not only a medium of disseminating information but is also the symbol of struggles and fights that our forefathers have gone through. Unfortunately, the physical edition of this media has been facing a downfall in recent times with many going online. The latest to join the lot is the DNA newspaper.
Daily News and Analysis (DNA) was an Indian broadsheet newspaper. It had become a daily part of every Indian household since it was launched in 2005. An English newspaper, it was published in cities like from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Indore in India. It covered topics that interested everyone equally from politics, sports, to entertainment.
However, this Zee-owned enterprise shut down on 10th October 2019 due to the financial crisis faced by the media house. The newspaper carried a letter from the editor announcing that the distribution of DNA newspaper will cease from Thursday 10th October 2019.

An independent and strong-voiced newspaper that began its journey with a remarkable campaign 'Speak up, it's your DNA' was able to deliver the best to its readers during its run. The news of it shutting down was very upsetting for the loyal subscribers.

This makes me sad. I never worked for this newspaper but I am emotionally attached to it for some obvious reasons. It breaks my heart to know that DNA newspaper will never see the light of the day yet again. #heartbreak @dna #lasteditioninprint pic.twitter.com/q5fWi3sD8V

I vividly remember how two Salesperson from @dna came to my house (in Pune) and convinced me to subscribe for this newspaper. Two year subscription for ₹199, and this was 2007. I used to read @the_hindu way back then, and DNA came as a change. More news, less editorial bullshit.
