After the success of the first instalment, Disney has Barry Jenkins onboard for The Lion King sequel.
Filmmaker Barry Jenkins who known for the Oscar-winning movie Moonlight will be directing the sequel of the popular animated movie, The Lion King. The initial draft of the script of The Lion King sequel has been completed by Jeff Nathanson, who was also the part of the first edition.
The follow up of the movie will also be created using the same photo-realistic technology that was used in the previous film by director Jon Favreau. Considering how successful the movie that with it grossing over $1.6 billion worldwide has become a top priority for Sean Bailey's division. The second part of the movie will explore the origin of Mufasa's life and the mythology of the characters.
