The much awaited live-action remake of one of Disney’s classic and most loved animation movies has finally hit the theaters today. Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Marwan Kenzari starrer Aladdin promised to be a nostalgic roller coaster for the 90s kids, and it surely lived up to it.
The movie holds the same basic plot line as the original (Thank God for that!) where a street urchin, Aladdin that stumbles upon a mysterious cave by chance and finds genie in a lamp; he falls in love with the Sultan’s daughter and thus starts his adventure with genie. I don’t think we could have asked for a better Genie than the talented Will Smith himself; he makes the character his own and audience falls in love with the adorable blue giant again.
While Twitter is pouring in with hearts and smiles for the movie, there are a few for whom the movie didn’t do the trick.
Spotted the lamp about 71 times in total during the movie Thank you @StarMoviesIndia for this visual treat !!. It was nostalgic, magical and refreshing all at the same time. #DisneyAladdin #StarMoviesSecretScreening

I’ve never smiled as much in a movie in my life until I watched #Aladdin. It met my expectations and passed them. This is the best Disney live action they’ve done hands down. ?

I saw Aladdin today and honestly I LOVED IT. Will Smith played the genie VERY well and don’t think Robin would be disappointed. Yes it’s different than the original but they add uniqueness and modernization to it in a colorful, story telling way! #DisneyAladdin pic.twitter.com/rm9V6qlMTM
