After the recent attack on the students of JNU, Deepika Padukone joined a meeting organised by JNU unions and teachers association. Here is how Twitter reacted to Deepika's JNU visit.
While every citizen has been vocal about the JNU protest and the recent violence faced by the students and staff there, some prominent Bollywood celebrities and A-listers of the industry have kept numb. People have called out most of them to speak up on the matter and to give their stand on the issue. On Tuesday, 7th January, Deepika Padukone who was in Delhi for movie promotions joined a meeting organised by JNU unions and teachers association, becoming the first A-lister to be present there, after the JNU attacks by a masked mob on Sunday. She arrived at Sabarmati T-Point in the university where a public meeting was being held. Although she didn't address the crowd, she stood by former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar as he spoke and raised slogans. The actress left just before Aishe Ghosh, the current JNUSU President began addressing the crowd. Deepika's JNU visit has caused a stir online with netizens being divided in opinion, questioning the actress's stance.

If you say this #deepikapadukone didn't you just contradict yourself w/a cheap PR stunt by emphasizing students as 'victims' to promote a film?https://t.co/FSNuxLQQpj
