How do you define gender fluid fashion?

Think of it like a giant fashion playground where you can mix and match whatever makes you feel the most fabulous! It’s all about expressing yourself through fashion without limits. So, imagine rocking a flowy skirt with a cool graphic tee, or a sharp blazer over ripped jeans – anything goes!

What inspired you to start exploring gender fluid fashion?

I saw people rocking whatever felt good, mixing prints and silhouettes – the whole shebang! It was like a fashion explosion, and suddenly, everything was on the table. Billy Porter consistently pushes boundaries on the red carpet with bold gowns and tuxedo dresses. Harry Styles loves rocking floral suits, flowy shirts, and nail polish, redefining masculinity in pop culture. 'RuPaul's Drag Race' has introduced audiences to the creativity and self-expression of drag fashion, often playing with gender presentation.

How do you use fashion as a tool for self-expression and identity exploration?

It liberates me from clothing limitations and lets me express myself authentically. I can try different styles, colors, and silhouettes to see what resonates with me. Your outfit can be a conversation starter, reflecting your interests, values, or even your mood. It's a way to visually communicate who you are.

Can you share some of your favorite fashion brands or designers?

Huemn and Rudraksh Dwivedi are all about handcrafted, statement clothing. They use interesting techniques like layering and beading to create truly unique pieces.

Personally, how do you approach combining traditionally gendered pieces in your outfits?

I love pairing simple or cut-out crop tops with a pair of edgy oversized pants. It creates a cool juxtaposition that feels both unexpected and put-together. A chunky chain necklace can add an edge to a simple top or shirt, while a delicate pendant can soften up a moto jacket. It's all about using accessories to create the vibe you're going for. I'm a big fan of asymmetry. It's a great way to break away from conventional styles and add a touch of individuality to any outfit.

Are there any particular fashion trends you see emerging?

Vintage clothing is making a comeback! From classic cuts to retro prints, there's a renewed appreciation for pre-loved pieces. Also, bold colors and patterns are in: after a period of muted tones, fashion is getting a shot of color! Think vibrant hues, eye-catching patterns, and playful mixing and matching.

Do you think gender fluid fashion is evolving in the mainstream fashion industry? If yes, how?

Yes, gender-fluid fashion is definitely evolving in the mainstream fashion industry. More and more established brands are incorporating gender-fluid elements into their collections. This includes offering wider size ranges, unisex designs, and campaigns featuring diverse models. Celebrities and fashion icons are increasingly embracing gender-fluid fashion on the red carpet and in their everyday lives. This helps to normalize the concept and inspire others to experiment with their own style.
