In conversation with Sejal Kumar about bringing her fierce self for Tasva at Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2023

Sejal Kumar made her debut at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI 2023 and talked about her exuberant experience while walking for Tarun Tahiliani's collection 'Tasva'. 

Youtuber, singer-songwriter, and content creator Sejal Kumar is known for how multifaceted she is, someone who is a celebrated creator appreciated for the stories that she has to share, and people know about everything that Sejal is capable of. Right from sharing her fashion hacks, talking about her struggles, and making music to always experimenting with her content, Sejal has never failed to put her best foot forward. While she continues to amaze her audience with something new, her recent appearance at the Lakme Fashion Week was a reminder of a skill she always possessed. Proving that there are dreams that are indelible, Sejal walked the ramp for Tarun Tahiliani’s collection and stunned everyone.

Talking about her LFW experience and walking on the ramp, Sejal said, “This experience was a dream come true moment. I had always wanted to walk the ramp, and making my debut for Tasva by Tarun Tahiliani was amazing! Being the only female in an all-men show was very empowering. The outfit was so comfortable and bold that it brought a lot of power to the walk.”

Tarun Tahiliani’s Tasva, which also made its debut at Lakme Fashion Week is a collection that has something for every Indian man. The show aimed to highlight the redefinition of the Modern Indian Man and was skillfully segregated into three segments bringing to focus masterful pieces for day wedding events, evening soirees, and the final wedding look. Sejal was the surprise element since she was the only woman to walk for the show and the collection showing off its versatility.

“The collection was so versatile and diverse, catering to everyone celebrating a wedding. It's also gender-fluid, allowing me to feel completely myself in the outfit I wore. The Tasva team ensured coordination and organization for a smooth process during rehearsals and the entire event. Although the actual rehearsals only took place about half an hour before the actual show started!"

Sejal was not the only creator present at this year's LFW! There were many who walked the ramp and also made an appearance throughout the event representing the creator community. Mentioning the impact that creators have on events like these, Sejal mentioned," We are in a really cool space now, where creators have the influence to walk the ramp as they are and represent the creator community in such amazing, fashion-forward spaces. I believe we have a significant impact, and I'm so grateful for these designers to recognize that."
