Ways to make your Diwali content unique
Gayathri finds her voice amongst millions of other creators and carves out a unique remembrance in the minds of her audience. "For me, it's creating my new series called Homegrown in India which has helped me with one, showcasing so many homegrown brands to a larger public, and two, finding my unique content piece." She also thinks that having a unique content piece irrespective of the festive season and staying true to yourself is of paramount importance. Jiya believes in including a combination of traditional themes with modern twists. “Collaborating with local artisans or sharing lesser-known traditions can create distinctive content that stands out.”
Planning schedule for content during Diwali
Gayathri follows a method in which she plans all her content in advance by brainstorming and shooting her content weeks in priority. “Though, it's key to have both well-thought content and some casual content to strike the balance.” Jiya’s method is also very systematic where she creates a flexible content calendar well in advance focusing on themes that tend to inspire her. “This way, I can capture the festive spirit without feeling overwhelmed.”
Creative process while developing Diwali-themed content
Gayathri usually analyses the content on her page checking which content has worked best and then seeing what she can do to bring all the festive themes. “I usually use the notes app in my phone to jot down everything which then gets converted into a cohesive sheet with a content calendar." Jiya’s creative process starts with brainstorming ideas. She adds, “I outline key messages and visuals, considering how to integrate my audience's feedback to make it more relevant.”
Tips and tricks for filming Diwali content
Regarding tips while filming Diwali content, Gayathri believes that thinking through the eyes of the audience and focusing on them primarily can help in churning out good festive content. “Try to hit at least one need (entertain, value etc) of your audience, but of course the more, the merrier. Make your set up is festive-themed!” Jiya prioritizes good lighting and suggests using natural light whenever it is possible. She prefers using vibrant colors that reflect the festival’s spirit. “Also, I use a mix of wide and close-up shots to capture both the ambiance and details, ensuring a visually rich experience.”
