friends with fellow creators

"With friends in the same field as you, it's not uncommon to gain inspiration and motivation from each other," says Muskan Roy as she, along with Himadri, Vamakshi, and Rhea Gurnani talk about being friends with creators.

There is a long-running joke about how a best friend, who knows everything about your life to the last detail is often utterly clueless about your job. Despite never being able to explain what your job is, they always seem proud of all the work that you do. If discussing your job with a friend who is not from the same profession is exhilarating, imagine being friends with someone who belongs to the same profession, especially, in a competitive profession like content creation. Only some people are well-versed with this online space and they understand how much time, effort, and a lot of errors, go into doing what you do. Having the same shared experience of being a part of this always-evolving world may also be a cause for many friendships and our Indian content creators can vouch for that.

Fashion and lifestyle creators Himadri, Muskan Roy, Vamakshi, and Rhea Gurnani are fortunate to know creators who can also be counted as friends. They enjoy having the chance to not just share their space but also a bit of their lives. These creators believe that there is a special kind of joy in being friends with people from the same industry, and they share that joy with us.

Here's what they had to share!

Himadri finds being friends with fellow creators to be a unique experience. "It often means sharing a deep understanding of each other's passions, challenges, and creative processes. Conversations can be rich with ideas, constructive feedback, and mutual inspiration making the friendship more collaborative and supportive. Unlike other friendships, there’s a special bond over late-night brainstorms, shared projects, and celebrating each other’s successes." This dynamic fosters growth, pushing each creator to explore new heights, while also providing a safety net of empathy and understanding unique to the creative world.

Sharing the same love for creating content and helping each other grow is what makes it special according to Muskan Roy. "With friends in the same field as you, it's not uncommon to gain inspiration and motivation from each other. You celebrate successes and support each other through challenges. One drawback is the sense of competition, given that content creation is a highly competitive field." Yet, the bond you build is worth it, as you learn, grow, and navigate the creative journey together.

Vamakshi mentions that her fellow creators behind the curtains are just as human as the rest. "The bond remains the same. however it’s really beneficial if you have a friend in the same field as yours, we can learn a lot from each other. There is a deep sense of understanding and respect for each other’s work."

Rhea Gurnani understands how it can be preserved and maintained if people work on it. She believes that the recipe for a successful friendship is the same regardless of whom it’s with. It’s all about love, loyalty, respect, and zero envy. “Everyone’s just looking for someone they can be comfortable with! I started so young that I never got to work a normal job or travel with someone to work and make office friends. Instead, I isolated myself in my room to make videos and ended up meeting some of my favorite people. Ones who made me feel less lonely, are on the same wavelength as me, who understood my job and everything that comes with it. I’m blessed to have made friends so great that I sometimes forget they’re from the same industry as me, and usually the only reminder is when someone or the other pulls out their camera for pictures or a vlog!”
