In this Goregoan-based COVID-19 facility, patients and staff celebrate the spirit of Navrati by performing Garba with face masks and PPE kits.
Happiness isn’t situational! The proof of this phrase is the recent viral video from Goregaon’s COVID-19 facility by the Brihanmumai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In this particular video, patients and healthcare workers are seen performing the traditional Garba to the Bollywood song –‘Kamariya’.
Patients are seen wearing a mask, while the healthcare professionals are seen wearing the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) gears while doing the rounds for performing Garba. There are many audiences who are other patients witnessing the performance. The video was tweeted by the news agency ANI that went viral immediately after!
As of now, Mumbai is one of the worst-affected cities in the country impacted by the virus. As per the status, the city has more than 2.43 lakh cases with over 9,700 deaths reported. Given the situation, the state government had issued certain guidelines for the festive season that urged people to not involve any activities that have mass participation – in order to prevent the virus from spreading.
