One of our favourite social media platforms, Instagram, turned 10 on 6th October. The app has become such an important part of our lives that our morning don't start and end without us going through it. Even as you are reading this, or soon after you are done reading this article you will go through the 'gram double-tapping the funniest meme. While many of us are on the app for fun, there are many who are making a living out of it. For all those wanting to part of them, creators and travel bloggers Savi & Vid of Bruised Passports shared their tips on Instagram's birthday.
Savi and Vid of Bruised Passports are known for their trips around the world. The duo has visited a number of places and has been sharing about the same on their Instagram page. Here are the 6 ways in which Bruised Passports finds Instagram empowering & how one can use it to their advantage:
"1. SIMPLlFY your Instagram feed. Follow friends or people that have a positive impact on you, inspire you to work harder or live your best life
2. Use it to EDUCATE yourself. Never before has so much free information been available at your fingertips - use it to make an educated choice about your career, your next holiday, or your fitness goals
3. Use it for CAUSES you are passionate about - we use every opportunity to promote gender equality here & crowdfunded a computer lab in a tiny school in Rajasthan. How else would we do it if not for Instagram?
4. Exploit your TALENT whatever it might be. Instagram has democratised everything: anyone with skill & insane drive can make it big. So let your talent take YOU places
5. Build COMMUNITIES and make friends in faraway lands! We meet so many of YOU wherever we go & it literally feels like we have family all across the world. How else could we have access to like-minded people from dozens of different countries, if not on Instagram?
6. Finally and most importantly, strike a BALANCE that suits you - despite social media being an important part of our jobs, we rarely whip out our phones when we are with friends or family. So find a happy balance and always prioritise your MENTAL HEALTH."
