Making an X with our arms and watching the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer as we mourn the death of a King.
And the king shall live forever! After two years of wait and recovering from a tragic loss, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer was released at the SDCC on Sunday. With Kendrick Lamar’s “We gonna be alright” playing in the background, the trailer looks like a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman and his legacy as the King.
2020 was a hard year for the MCU and Black Panther fans as they lost their favorite actor to cancer. While the production of the sequel to one of the most successful movies was halted, MCU declared that it will not recast Chadwick's character and make sure to honor his legacy in the second movie. After a long wait, the trailer for Black Panther 2 was released and it's everything and more than the fans expected.
With a line-up of incredible and strong women, the trailer takes us through the Kingdom of Wakanda as the people gather for what looks like a funeral dressed in all white for their king T'Challa. We feel all the emotions when Angela Bassett’s Ramonda declares “I am Queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone.” And we're left with one question - who will be the next Black Panther? We get a small glimpse of this at the end of the trailer.
Here's the trailer:
As we expected, the trailer shows off Wakanda in all its glory. From all of its tribes and their cultures, our favorite characters back, we also get a sneak peek into new characters who have joined the film. The watery kingdom of Atlantis finally makes it into the MCU. The movie will see two of the most technologically advanced and hidden civilizations. We'll get to watch Wakanda fight to protect their nation in the wake of their King's death. Marvel Comics' favorite Namor (Tenoch Huerta), the Submariner is one character that everyone was waiting for. After a bunch of rumors, we can finally confirm his appearance. The trailer also indicated that Namor will be the ruler of Talocan instead of Atlantis in the MCU. We finally have a face to Iron Heart as she joins Shuri in her lab working on the fascinating Wakandan technology.
With stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, and Winston Duke reprising their roles, the movie is written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who also helmed the first “Black Panther.” The movie also has a bunch of newcast who will be playing important roles. This list includes Michaela Coel, Dominique Thorne, Alex Nivilani, Mabel Cadena, and Tenoch Huerta.
The movie will release worldwide on November 11, 2022.
