We recently got in touch with Biswapati Sarkar to talk about his experience of writing and acting in the second season of Mr & Mrs and here's what he had to say...
Mr & Mrs. has returned with the second season, what can the viewers expect from this season?
"Sanju and Madhu's usual light-hearted banter. But in this season we also see why they are in love and how despite their differences, they still can still love and back each other up."
Which topics will you be tackling this season?
"From Madhu finding a top in her laundry pile which doesn't belong to her, to Sanju being awkward around his in-laws because of an accident, this season is full of awkward comedic situations in the life of this couple."
Which episode did you enjoy shooting for the most?
"All episodes were fun to shoot. But there is a dining table scene with Madhu's parents in Episode 4, which took us almost a day because we would break into laughter in the middle of the scene."
Any funny/memorable incident that took place on set?
"I always had the image of Sharat Saxena sir being a tough guy. But working with him was such a delight. He was not only the easiest actor to work with, but he also had a fantastic sense of humour. The anecdotes he shared from his previous films were hilarious."
You have many other actors namely Srishti Shrivastava, Gopal Dutt, Sharat Saxena and more joining the cast. How was it working with them?
"I have worked with Gopal ji before. Although never performed together with him. It's tough to hold your laughter when he improvises a really funny line right in front of you. Shrishti and I also worked together for the first time. And she's so immensely talented that it was a breeze. All the actors we worked with, Shabnam mam, Sharat sir, Rajat, were extraordinary and our equations with them off-screen, definitely help us on screen."

What do you think the audience will connect with the most?
"The characters. Madhu and Sanju. They're the reason why people keep coming back."
Which episode did you enjoy writing the most?
"I love all my children equally."
Do any of these characters resemble anyone from your real life?
"I would like to believe they're fictional. But my wife tells me that I do have traces of Sanju in me."
The dialogues and witty comebacks are also quite interesting, are these observations you've made in life or purely fiction?
"Fiction. Observations definitely help, but at the end of the day, you have to write what the character would say. And the way he would say it."
It's probably too soon but do you have ideas for season 3 also in the pipeline?
"Many many ideas. Can't wait to start working on a new season."
