The first season was released in 2021, and it follows Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi), a homemaker who is also the wife of Chief Minister Bheema Bharti. After Bheema has a stroke, Rani becomes the chief minister and takes it upon herself to provide state citizens with an honest government. But trouble shows up at her doorstep when she is falsely imprisoned for three years for the murder of her husband. As the saga unfolds, 'Maharani' promises another riveting chapter filled with power, drama, and the complex interplay of politics in the corridors of influence. The Janta was impressed with Huma Qureshi's performance and only had good things to say about the series!
