Sidhant Gupta - Jubilee
With the style, charm, and innocence of Jay Khanna in Jubilee, Sidhant with glee in his eyes and his upbeat steps made a break-out performance where he still stood a class apart in an ensemble of good performances!
Wamiqa Gabbi - Jubilee and Charlie Chopra
It could be said that this was Wamiqa's year as she was seen everywhere and while she has exceptional screen presence and her eyes do wonders yet her Niloufer in Jubilee brought out that old-school charm mixed with a modern charm and Charlie in Charlie Chopra in the same league as Enola Holmes!
Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky - Kohrra
After years of struggle and typecasting both Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky as Garundi and Balbir found characters that not only established them as actors in people's eyes but also gave them something to work with to bring out their best!
Gulshan Devaiah - Dahaad and Guns and Gulaabs
Who doesn't know that Gulshan Devaiah is a tremendous actor? But this year, Devi Singh in Dahaad and Char Cut Aatma Ram in Guns and Gulaabs made him more visible, especially for his massive acting range and amazing talent that he always had!
Vijay Varma - Dahaad
Vijay Varma is someone who transcends over and beyond and transforms so much into is character that after Anand in Dahaad, it was very hard for everybody to like Vijay Varma! Thank God he chose to do some projects after this where he did not become the ultimate bad guy!
Adarsh Gourav and Rajkumar Rao - Guns and Gulaabs
Adarsh Gourav as Jugnu and Rajkumar Rao as Panna were absolute delights to watch in Guns and Gulaabs. Panna never fails to make you laugh as well as feel bad for him but Jugnu with his secret just leaves you in complete heartbreak!
Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Bhuvan Arora - Farzi
Shahid Kapoor as Sunny is befitting as a troubled middle-class artist who gets involved in counterfeiting with his best friend Firoz played by the very talented Bhuvan Arora, who almost steals the show, goes head to head with a 'south Indian accent' Hindi speaking Michael played effortlessly and funnily by Vijay Sethupathi. It was the true pan-Indian collab in the web series we were waiting for!
Karishma Tanna, Harman Baweja, and Zeeshan Ayyub - Scoop
The very dedicated Karishma Tanna transforms herself as Jagruti Pathak so well that she doesn't let us see Tanna even for a minute while Harman Baweja as JCP Harshvardhan Shroff was just so unrecognizable that he became a nice surprise of the year. Zeeshan Ayyub as Imran Siddique is so dependable and trustworthy that not only Jagruti but even the audience could count on him!
Sushmita Sen - Taali
If the best transformation award was there and had to be given to someone it would definitely be given to Sushmita Sen this year who incredibly transformed into a trans activist Shreegauri Sawant and did justice to her biopic! Her changed voice, bearded face, body language, everything was commendable!
K K Menon - The Railway Men and Bambai Meri Jaan
K K Menon is an actor who for many years has established that he is so talented that he can never go unnoticed but this year we have got to see another side to him. He has been always the favorite villain for everybody but in 2023 we see him as a sensitive caring man or father struggling to save people or his family establishing once again that his acting talents know no boundaries!
Avinash Tiwary and Kritika Kamra - Bambai Meri Jaan
Avinash Tiwary as Dara Kadri is the right amount of cunning, street-smart hero who rises to become a villain to the world whereas Kritika Kamra as Habiba Kadri has the correct attitude of a woman who finds a firm place in this world dominated by men all around.
Babil Khan - The Railway Men
Since his debut, Babil has proved that he is a talented Gen Z actor who is here to work hard. But his choices of projects, if anything, have proved that he has a range to offer, especially with Imad Riaz in The Railway Men.
Rajshri Deshpande - Trial By Fire
The instant Trial By Fire came out, it was established that Rajshri Deshpande had done a tremendous job at presenting the angst and pain of a mother who is grieving but wants justice for her children's death!
Tillotama Shome - The Night Manager
To play an enigmatic character is one thing but to play that character that has been done so brilliantly by Olivia Coleman is an altogether another thing. Nevertheless, Tillotama Shome rises to the challenge and adapts the British character Angela Burr as Lipika Saikia in a genius delicious fashion!
Mona Singh - Made In Heaven 2 and Kaala Paani
Who knew that Jassi of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin could one day be Bulbul Jauhari and Dr. Soudamin? But if anyone could do it, it would definitely be Mona Singh who pulled off all these roles with the same conviction where we are left in awe of the power of Bulbul and the brilliance of Dr Soudamini.
Arjun Mathur - Made in Heaven 2
Arjun Mathur as Karan Mehra already stole our hearts in Made In Heaven season 1 but this time, the way he handles Karan's drug abuse and his denial about his feelings for his mother, made us connect with his character on a deeper level.
Jim Sarbh - Rocket Boys 2
Jim Sarbh with his character, Dr Homi Bhabha established that as an actor he adds himself to a character because if Dr Homi is so eccentric, one of the major reasons behind it is because Sarbh plays him with consistency. No wonder he received an Emmy nomination for this role!
Naveen Kasturia and Sunny Hinduja - Aspirants 2
Who are Naveen Kasturia and Sunny Hinduja? Who we know are Aspirant and IAS Abhilash Sharma and Sandeep Bhaiya! They've just become their characters through and through so much so that no one will ever recognise them by their own names!
Konkona Sen Sharma and Parambrata Chatterjee - Mumbai Diaries Season 2
Konkana Sen Sharma and Parambrata Chatterjee are two well-established brilliant actors but the way they embody the roles of this couple, Dr. Chitra and Sourav in an abusive relationship in Mumbai Diaries 2 is just too truthful a depiction with a flair of drama!
Dimple Kapadia - Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo
Even though this matriarch Savitri has problems, the powerful way with which Dimple Kapadia has essayed the role is commendable and the experiment that she is opting for is inspiring for many!
