13 characters I’d love to dance with in the visarjan

While we bid farewell to Ganpati Bappa today, we also do it wholeheartedly with dhol, taasha and with some of our favorite Bollywood characters!

They say you shouldn’t say goodbye to someone with a heavy heart and the idea of visarjan was born out of this beautiful thought itself. Instead of seeing off Bappa with teary eyes, we Mumbaikars go above and beyond to celebrate yet another end of Ganesh Chaturthi and anticipate a sooner beginning next year. We’ve also often seen a visarjan scene in Bollywood but what would happen if we put characters across various genres into this pivotal event? Today, as we find solace in fictional characters more than ever, it would actually be rather fun to have them be a part of visarjan and have so many iconic fictional worlds collide.

Here’s who’d make the perfect fit for it!

Bae - Call Me Bae

Since she’s here to take over Mumbai, the best way to give her a vibe of the city would in fact be the visarjan! We’ve seen her dance in the show but it would be an entirely different experience for her to just let loose and dance her heart out like there’s no tomorrow!

Rocky Randhawa - Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Rocky is just all heart! There is no way he would be able to resist dancing in the visarjan. If anything, he would in fact be the one to start dancing first and elevate the experience for us all.

Geet - Jab We Met

Just like Rocky, she would love to immerse herself into the aura of the visarjan. But that’s if she stops talking about herself because vo apni favorite hai!

Vijay - Don

Vijay owns the song that is played literally at every visarjan, every single year. His expressions, his love for Bappa and his iconic dance steps on ‘Mourya Re’ make him undoubtedly the one who’d give Ganpati Bappa the best farewell, just so he can come back sooner next year!

Imran, Kabir and Arjun - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Since they’re all about living life to the fullest, the three musketeers would bring their own charm to the visarjan. Be it re-creating their most popular dance steps like they did in ‘Senorita’ or how they might just take the world and paint it red with gulaal!

Divya, Jasmine and Geeta - The Crew

The Crew gang is known to not give a damn about what people think of them and it works best because during visarjan no one really has the time to judge anybody, simply because we’re all busy dancing. It would also be a great place for the three of them to make more memories together as friends!

Phool and Jaya - Laapata Ladies

Phool and Jaya were bound by restrictions all their lives. It was beautiful to see their journey of self discovery in Laapata Ladies and now that they’ve become independent women, it would be rather refreshing to see the two be able dance in a visarjan without anyone stopping them from having some fun!

Akhil Chadha - Bad Newz

We for sure need someone to Tauba Tauba his way into the visarjan with his slick moves. As someone who had the whole nation dancing to his song, there’s no way we could leave him out for visarjan this year!
