Aamir Khan has consistently contributed to changing this world with his choice in projects whether its 3 Idiots or Satyamev Jayate.
After Laal Singh Chaddha became the controversial debacle that it was, Aamir Khan seems to have taken a break to catch his breath from being onscreen. However, he still continues to be the flag bearer of change by producing films like Laapataa Ladies. But this instinct of bringing something new to the people and leaving them with something has always been seen with Aamir, right from the time he made his debut with his cute looks in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, a film that chose to have an end where its protagonists died, a rare idea for a film of that time!
Experimentation has always been right up his alley! He played a single father in Akele Hum Akele Tum, a grief-stricken father and cop in Talaash; an honest cop in Sarfarosh, a freedom fighter in Mangal Pandey, a revenge-seeking man who has lost his memory in Ghajini or an amazing best friend in Ishq. His films have never been just about one thing, they have always meant something more. Maybe that's why coming of age with him and his films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti, or Lagaan has been a wholesome ride for the audience.

Not only does he understand us but he also becomes our teacher and a beacon of hope when needed. With films like 3 Idiots, Tarare Zameen Par, Dangal, or PK he brought out topics that needed to be discussed. Films he produced were also unique to them like Delhi Belly, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Dhobi Ghat, and Secret Superstar. His films, Raja Hindustani, Andaz Apna Apna, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, Rangeela, or Dil, have showcased his versatility and his range as an actor.
But his TV show Satyamev Jayate is what ended up educating us in multiple ways. This reality show spoke about domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, female foeticide-infanticide, and many more issues with a detailed perspective. The show paved the way for many of us to start having these discussions at home and doing something tangible to make a difference.
Via the characters he played and the movies he picked, he walked so today's stars could run! Without him, we probably wouldn't know what versitality really looks like! Happy Birthday to this powerhouse!
