This World Book Day, get inspired by these adapted screenplays that effortlessly adapt stories from books and push you to pick up that novel you've been struggling to get back to.

Oppenheimer, the most talked about and award-winning film of last year, is actually adapted from a book, a biography titled 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer'. But there is no denying that the book, in Christopher Nolan's hands, turns from scientific exploration into cinema. Just like that, many adaptations from page to screen have left us all stunned in the past. Even though it is a little embarrassing to admit, many times, it is the film or a TV show that has led us towards the book. But that doesn't mean we should all completely rely on visual content to tell us these incredible stories. After all, when you read a book, you enter a world built purely on your imagination!

Unfortunately, we live in a time when visual content gets more eyeballs and it's rare to see a person reading a book today. With this list, we aim to drive people back to their origin found in the written pages. Ultimately, if these films could be inspired by these pages, we could too!
