The central government allows the BCCI to conduct IPL 2020 in UAE in the wake of increasing COVID cases in India.
IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed on Monday about BCCI receiving the government's approval to conduct this year's Indian Premier League in UAE. He also said that the companies are given a seven-day window to submit their bids for becoming the title sponsors of this year's matches. The popular mobile company, VIVO has been the title sponsor for the past few years. The new sponsors for IPL 2020 will be announced by August 18th.
The matches have been shifted to the UAE due to the rise in the COVID cases in India. It will be held in UAE from September to November 10th in UAE's three major cities Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Most of the players and teams will be moving after August 20th. Two mandatory RT-PCR, COVID-19 tests, will be conducted within 24 hours from their departure base.
