Bawaal starring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan premiered on Prime Video last Friday and it's all that the Janta's talking about!
Bawaal, written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The soundtrack is composed by Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi, and Akashdeep Sengupta. The lyrics are written by Kausar Munir, Manoj Muntashir, Arafat Mehmood, and Shloke Lal.
The film is about Ajay Dixit, a history teacher who is perpetually concerned with his image in society. He marries Nisha, a smart and honest girl with epilepsy, for her social status. The day of his wedding, he watches Nisha having a seizure and distances himself from her and doesn't treat her like his wife. Bawaal follows their journey as they embark on a World War II trail and face their own conflicts and challenges.
The Janta was in complete awe of Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan's chemistry in Bawaal but deeper layers in the movie started a different kind of conversation on Twitter. Bawaal, apart from being a love story, teaches the Janta a lot about WW II and sheds light on what goes unnoticed.
Check out what the Janta had to say about it!

#Bawaal actually teaches us a lot about WW2. Many people talk about WW and makes jokes about it because of the lack of education. As ajju said “bachon ki kitabon me sirf 2 lines likh dete han” which is the harsh reality. Not many people know what happened. #BawaalReview

#Bawaal Indians tweeting about this movie only see the actors & the relationship drama. They just don’t seem to connect with the actual enormity of Holocaust and how disrespectful it is to make a movie like this. Sigh.

#Bawaal is such a beautifully written movie! Watch it if you are married, about to get married, if you’re a parent, if you are worried about your career, if you’re worried what others might think and if you know nothing about WWII. #Jahnvikapoor is outstanding throughout! 😇

People are getting upset over #Bawaal. It did not equate war crimes to the suffering in the lives of the main characters. The movie says the opposite. It shows how trivial are our fights compared to the suffering of jews.
