From Saawariya to Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor has made a special place in our hearts, and here's what we would like to say to the millennial's actor.
Ranbir Kapoor is one such actor who became a millennial favorite in no time with his chocolate boyish charm and his abundance of talent.
Dear Ranbir Kapoor
You dived straight into our hearts by performing ‘Jab se tere naina’ in a towel in Saawariyaa and with those amazing cute chocolate boyish charm. Then with romancing three different women, Bipasha, Deepika, and Manisha in Bachna Ae Haseeno, playing the cute quirky guy romancing Katrina Kaif in Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, and being suicidal and falling in love with Priyanka Chopra in Anjana Anjaani, you very quickly became the nation’s heartthrob and crush in no time. But we weren't aware of your acting prowess till then. You were the guy that probably every other coming-of-age girl wanted to date and had a poster in her room. But it was Janardhan aka Jordan of Rockstar that made us all see who you are and what you are capable of. After that, there was really no stopping you from becoming a millennial favorite.
Coming from a star-studded house you could have probably gone for only super commercial famous films but thank you for being different. You chose scripts that challenged you as an actor and gave a narrative worthwhile telling over doing a famous film. With your braveness to chose scripts that told a relatable yet strong story we got Ved and a film like Tamasha, we got Bunny and a film like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, we got Siddharth and a film like Wake up Sid, and we got Barfi and a film like Barfi. You understood the pulse of the nation and its youth and wanted to tell their stories and struggles. We started finding ourselves in your characters and we started believing in the fact that films can be more than just entertainment. We all wanted to say out loud “main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna chahta hoon..bas rukna nahi chahta hoon”. You became the definite explanatory actor because of whom we millennials had the courage to dream and to fight for those dreams. You helped us made our parents understand why are we different and that there is a possibility of choosing a field different than being a doctor or an engineer. It was the first time ever that an actor who was dashingly handsome choose to do a role in a film like Rocketman: salesman of the year or work in an ensemble cast in a political film like Raajneeti. You made us fall in love with Mumbai and growing up! And you with Barfi even told us that you don't really need dialogues to speak, you with your acting skills are enough to make us dance, sing along, and cry with you.
You broke all the rules that were existing and proved that you could do it all. In factly you made it possible and inspired a lot of other actors to take the leap of faith in the script. Some of your films worked but sometimes your experiments failed as well but there was no stopping you. You came rising back up with Sanju with a performance that was never seen before. And unrequited love got to be the center of the frame with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Each time and every time you proved that you are a passionate actor and it doesn't matter to you whether you are a star or not. And that's probably why we can't help but fall in love with you and all the characters that you do.
We have watched you grow in a very short span of time, heck we have grown up with you, and trust me truly you with your amazing talent and choices have only made it easier for us. It was like you always came to us as a mentor whenever we needed one with your films. So thank you for being such an unapologetic brave and passionate actor who just love, love, love films to his core. You make us wanna believe in ourselves sometimes.
With Love
From a female Ved
