From much-awaited Made in Heaven 2 to Raj and DK’s Farzi starring Shahid Kapoor, Amazon Prime Video has a bag full of titles in store for you!
After the pandemic, the theatres have opened up to full capacity and it's time that people have started going back to the 35mm screens for watching, there is a new time that has come in the sector of entertainment. While everything is not going straight to release on OTT we still see many movies coming to platforms just after a month or so. Though many titles like Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, and KGF 2 went well at the box office while other titles like Jhund, Jersey, and more have not. And binge-watching is still going strong. While the palette of the audience is still under construction according to the content this has given a new experimental phase for platforms like Amazon Prime Video.
In an event held recently titled Prime Video Presents India- See where it takes you, the platform announced a huge slate of scripted and unscripted original series and films. It is all set to launch over 40+ new titles across languages spread over the next 24 months. While there were announcements of new and old titles coming back with new seasons there were also announcements of multi-year licensing deals with major production houses and collaborations.
From Yash Raj Films with Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Prithviraj, Shamshera, Tiger 3, and Pathaan to Dharma Productions with Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Govinda Naam Mera, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani to Excel Media and Entertainment with Phone Bhoot, Yudra, Fukrey 3, Jee Le Zara and Kho Gaye Hain Hum Kahan to Ajay Devgn Films with Runway 34, Thank God, Drishyam 2 and Bhola. Prime video will also co-produce Vidya Balan's Neeyat, Kangana Ranaut’s Tiku Weds Sheru, and Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu.
And there is more while The Family Man, Made In Heaven, Mirzapur, Panchayat, Paatal Lok, and Breathe: Into the Shadows are all set to come with their new seasons there are also some exciting new titles like Farzi (Raj and DK's starring Shahid Kapoor), Hush Hush, Indian Police Force (Rohit Shetty's starring Sidharth Malhotra).
