Netflix's Darlings starring Alia Bhatt, Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Matthew is all set to release on Netflix on August 5.
"A scorpion asks a frog to help him cross the river promising that he would not bite so the frog helps him. But in between the scorpion bites the frog and upon asking said that it's in his nature to bite." What's the point of this story? We also don't know, but Netflix's Darlings teaser starts with this story and ends on it, leaving the viewer confused and intrigued about what's happening in the film. Starring Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah as mother and daughter and Vijay Varma as Alia Bhatt's husband/boyfriend, we're not sure who Roshan Matthew plays in this one. The teaser aptly teases your mind giving out nothing in terms of the story but leaves you with questions nonetheless.
The film is hinted toward being a dark comedy which is a genre that's still not that widely explored in commercial films in India. Now, who is the frog, who is the scorpion, and who is imaging what? What's really happening? Guess we'll find out on August 5 on Netflix. Till then, dear darling, watch this teaser!
Darling will also be Alia Bhatt's first film as a producer with her production company, Eternal Sunshine Production. What do you think of the teaser? Tell us in the comments below!
