Kashmir has been under duress because of the unfavourable political state in the region. Ever since India and Pakistan's partition, both the countries have tried to own it via various means. Means that haven't been fair to the locals who call it home. Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced that the government has moved to remove Article 370 in the Rajya Sabha.

The abrogation of Article 370 revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The government did so asserting that the far-reaching political move would fix a historical blunder in the restive state. The move brings multiple changes into the political state of India. Jammu and Kashmir will be bifurcated in two different territories where a Union territory of Ladakh will be created without any legislature. While Jammu and Kashmir will be a separate union territory with a legislature.
The action and the changes it brought into effect are being challenged by the members of the Lok Sabha. Opposition parties raised concerns about the situation while the changes were set in motion. Members from Congress, DMK, National Conference and RSP raised their voices against the act and demanded a response from the Government explaining their actions. While Arvind Kejriwal and many others supported Modi government's move hoping, 'this will bring peace', MDMK leader Vaiko in Rajya Sabha is opposing the Bill calling this, 'a day of shame, shame, shame' and a 'murder of democracy'. Many political entities and groups in the nation are opposed to the way this situation was handled by the ruling party.

A greater opposition regarding the act is presented by Pakistani leaders condemning the Indian government on its actions. On the financial front, Pakistan's dollar bonds fell after the Indian government revoked Article 370 that gave Jammu and Kashmir its special status.
The matter began to pick momentum after the government imposed Section 144 in the region, ahead of the announcement, which prevented the people from holding any sort of public meetings or gatherings and ensured all educational institutions remain shut as well. Mobile internet services had also been suspended by the government in Kashmir Valley.
