Adarsh Gourav bagged a nomination in the Leading Actor category at BAFTA 2021 for the film, 'The White Tiger'.
The British Academy recently announced that, Adarsh Gourav has been nominated in the Leading Actor category at BAFTA 2021 for his outstanding performance in 'The White Tiger'. Also, the film is nominated in the category of Best Adapted Screenplay as well.
On Tuesday, the 26-year-old actor was announced as one of the nominees in the category. Alongside seasoned names such as Riz Ahmed (Sound Of Metal), late Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian). Directed by Ramin Bahrani, the movie, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, marked the first lead role for Gourav.
Taking to Instagram the actor shared his elation and even Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram to congratulate both the actor and the director.
The White Tiger chronicles the extraordinary journey of a driver named Balram (Gourav). The film follows Balram's rise from a poor villager to a successful entrepreneur in India, showcasing how hunger and lack of opportunity can build and drive a human being's animal instinct of survival.
