The excitement of watching a new TV show or another season of an old one is the only thing that's keeping us going in times of COVID -19. These stories have kept us busy giving us less time to stress about situations we may have no control over. And we're thankful to all these OTT platforms for producing amazing content that we binge on with our loved ones or by ourselves during lunch break. While these stories have us gripped the one thing that really helped us stay glued to it were the actors and there have been many of South Asian origin in international TV shows and movies.
It's always exciting to see characters from different ethnicities play a part in developing a strong story while representing various cultures in our society. People always appreciate it when they find someone who looks like them in the storyline making it more relatable and close to home. The international entertainment industry is trying to blur all these lines and include more people of color, giving them the opportunity and platform that their talent deserves. Over the years, we have seen many actors of South Asian origin making it big on screen. They have been able to change the scenario on an international platform with their diversity but more importantly with their talent. As South Asians, we couldn't be more proud of these artists for making a name for themselves globally and giving many kids back home the confidence to dream big!
