Abhay 2 was bashed on social media for using freedom fighter Khudiram Bose's picture on the criminal list. Zee5 apologises after severe social media backlash.
Abhay 2 allegedly misused the pictured of one of the youngest freedom fighters of India, Khudiram Bose. From a scene in the movie, many sketches of criminals were seen on a pinboard in the police station and one of them belonged to the freedom fighter, Khudiram Bose.
The fearless freedom fighter was executed on August 11, 1908, at the age of 18 for going against the British colonial rulers. It is said that he went to the gallows with a smile and the Bhagavad Gita in his hand.
The mistake was spotted by many viewers who were left upset and took to social media to highlight the incident. After realising the major blunder made, Zee5 apologised for hurting the sentiments of the viewers:
The producers, show & the platform, have no intent whatsoever to offend any community or hurt anybody’s sentiments. Keeping in mind the feedback received and with utmost respect to our audience, we have blurred the image (inadvertently) used in one of the scenes of Abhay2.
