Zostel

Zostel is India’s first chain of backpackers’ hostels. They provide travelers with dorms and rooms in their hostels at reasonable rates. Founded in 2013, the company was has only grown ever since. And why not? It tick marks all the boxes on a backpacker’s list!

Zostels give you the true experience of solo traveling. You share rooms with people unknown to you with diverse backgrounds and make connections all around the world! You get to choose the type of room you would want to stay in or if you wanna save a little more there’s always the option of dorms, which are equally nice!

Here’s a list of all the cities that have Zostels:

1. Agra, Uttar Pradesh: This Zostel is just a 10 minutes walk away from Taj Mahal and provides deluxe dorms as well as private rooms.

2. Alleppey, Kerala: This one is situated right at the Allappuzha beach, one of the major tourist attractions of the place.

3. Aurangabad, Maharashtra: The hostel is located just 7 kms away from the Aurangabad airport and 3.4 kms away from the railway station which gives it a prime location.

4. Bengaluru, Karnataka: Situated in the party hub of Bangaluru –Indiranagar, Zostel Bengaluru is the perfect place to make new friends. It also houses a rooftop lounging area.

5. Bir, Himachal Pradesh: Zostel Bir is a perfect paragliding hostel which is a tourist attraction there, and also at a good location to explore a few biking trails.

6. Chennai, Tamil Nadu: The hostel is located close to all the major landmarks and thus is apt for any traveler.

7. Chikmagalur, Karnataka: It’s a treat for all nature lovers as it is located in between a sprawling coffee plantation with trees and coffee shrubs all around.

14. Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: Located inside the famous Jaisalmer fort, this one gives a royal feel. It also houses a sky lounge which provides a breathtaking view of the city.

15. Jodhpur, Rajasthan: Zostel Jodhpur is in Makrana Mohalla, that is the heart of the city. It is short walk away from Ghanta Ghar and overlooks the Mehrangarh fort.

16. Kochi, Kerala: It is a cosy hostel situated in between all the Portugese houses in Fort Kochi and is close to all tourist attractions.

Celebrated Christmas at Zostel and it was much more fun than I expected! There was a bonfire and we played games and sang songs.. Got introduced to a Canadian game and received a cool souvenir pen as a gift! My first Zostel experience and I absolutely loved it.. The bonfire made the cold nights, warmer and the cute puppies made the sunny day’s, cooler.. Met such amazing people out here.. The staff was very sweet especially @rohitgoswami5842 and inspite of the recent cyclone, the place is running surprisingly well.. Beautifully painted zostel walls at Leh .... This is the common area where u can watch TV , play cards, uno, monopoly, carrom, and DARTS..... we spent most of our time playing darts here (and I m winner for life.... :) ) . Met ice PPL...... They wished us luck for the trek... And we're curious to know how did it go once we were back... On 4th floor they have a cafe called shooting star.... U can see Shanti stupa, Leh palace and STOK while sipping Ur cuppa of chai or coffee .... the food they served was delicious... Chapatis felt home made... Hot water was provided.... And I left one of my bags in the luggage room before I headed off to trek... Worry free .. !!! Zostel also provides free water... Imagine a bed in the dorm for 500 + free water !!! #401 This picture was clicked on the morning of 5th of November from @zostel Mcleodganj. The sun had risen and it was spreading it's warm rays on the misty mountains making me lazy and relaxed. The hot sun rays along with the body piercing chilly winds of the mountains was an amazing thing to feel up there. Zostel Mcleodganj is located at such a beautiful location that one would not want to leave the scenic beauty surrounding the homestay. As morning proceeded I saw people staying around doing their daily chores. The grazer was taking his mules to have their breakfast in the pine forest. Kids playing around in the sun as it was a bright, shiny Sunday. At a distance I could hear some local folk music which was the wedding song being played at someone's wedding. In the midst of the sound of the wedding song, the mules walking and the kids playing, there was calmness. There was a feeling of spirituality and that of love. Love for mother nature, love for each other. I was sitting in front of my dorm and looking at the Tibetan colourful flags indicating how strong the wind is blowing. I sank in the love that mother nature was providing. I closed my eyes and felt the cold breeze and in the next second, warmth of the sun. It was tranquil. It was pellucid.
