Several Indian organisations are observing the international campaign of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence initiated by UN-Women.
The international campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence kicked off with the global theme, "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!" on 25th November 2020. The annual international campaign by the United Nations Women focuses on challenging gender-based violence, especially against women and children. The civil society initiative will continue until Human Rights Day on 10th December 2020.

As per a statement by the UN General Secretary, reports have shown “an alarming increase in the already existing pandemic of violence against women.” In order to eradicate gender-based abuse, a campaign called ‘the United Nations Secretary-General’s UNiTE by 2030 to End Violence against Women campaign’ (UNiTE campaign) has also been initiated.
